Honest Faith
Jesus invites us to bring him our burdens, our questions, even our wrestlings and our doubts, and to receive his love. That is what it means to have honest faith. We strive to ask good questions, and to respect others as they do the same, even if they answer those questions differently than we do. We follow Jesus as he calls out to us, “come and see.”
Defiant Hope
Following Jesus means that we refuse to lose hope for a better world. Jesus is making all things new, and we get to join him in that work. For the beauty of the world, for the knowledge of the truth, for unity in diversity among all people, for freedom from guilt and shame, and for so many other things, we hold onto Jesus in hope, and we follow him.
Patient Love
Jesus summarized a good and righteous life in two commands: “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength,” and “love your neighbor as yourself.” We seek to live these commands out every day, individually and together, each of us taking our part in the mission of love that Jesus gave us.
